This wildlife footage captures Olive Ridley sea turtles (Lepidochelys olivacea) arriving on the coast of Odisha for nesting, a natural phenomenon of immense ecological importance. The visuals show the turtles emerging from the sea and moving slowly across the sandy beach, guided by instinct to suitable nesting sites above the high-tide line. This nesting behaviour is a critical stage in the life cycle of the species. Odisha’s coastline is globally renowned for mass nesting events, known as “arribada”, making it one of the most important breeding grounds for Olive Ridley turtles in the world.
