This tense wildlife sequence from a forest in Uttarakhand captures a rare moment as a Yellow-throated Marten (Martes flavigula) attempts to attack a young fawn (Cervidae sp.). The agile predator moves quickly through the undergrowth, closing in on the vulnerable fawn with sharp focus and precision. The atmosphere becomes momentarily still, creating a sense of impending danger typical of forest survival encounters. But an unexpected disturbance—possibly human movement, a sound, or shifting activity in the forest—breaks the predator’s attention.
