A havan is held on the banks of the Ganga canal at Haridwar, to the chants of 'Ganga Maa ki jai'. The largest super spreader event of the globe! When tens of thousands of faithful bathe in the Ganges at the same time, only faith can save them from Covid19, and even that failed... Priests offer fire and prayers to the river god of the Ganges - Ma Ganga. One of them is even wearing a mask - wonder of wonders! The LED screens and multi-coloured lighting effects in the backdrop are off-putting and artificial and look non-traditional, but given the heavy funding of religious events in India, the money had to be spent somewhere, perhaps. Nonetheless, the fire lamps and the evening river bank light does cast a beautiful glow on the water and the general ambience. Ganga idol is carried in a palanq
