Devotees gather in thousands at the Maa Barahi Devi Temple in Uttarakhand for the Bagwal Mela. Men in turbans are jumping and chanting on the muddy ground as they prepare for the game of Bawal or pelting stones. Bagwal Mela is celebrated on the day of Rakshabandhan with a unique game of throwing stones at each other. The participants of the game use wooden shields decorated in flowers.
