This meaningful wildlife footage documents migratory Demoiselle Cranes (Anthropoides virgo) being carefully fed by the local villagers of Keechan, Rajasthan, under the guidance of the legendary conservationist Shri Sevaram Ji, widely known as the Birdman of India. The feeding takes place at Pakshi Chugga Ghar, a large, protected open ground specially designated for the cranes. To minimize stress and avoid excessive human–bird interaction, the grain is spread a day in advance, allowing the cranes to feed naturally and safely in large numbers. Every winter, thousands of Demoiselle Cranes arrive in Keechan after an extraordinary long-distance migration from Central Asia and Mongolia, making this one of the most remarkable examples of community-led bird conservation in the world.
