See the lovely perky jaunty feathered crest move atop its head whenever it bobs its head! This Whiskered Yuhina is related to the plains White-eye and is a shy retiring bird of thick forest cover and doesn't come out into the open a lot, or even stay still. A nervous bird that is always on the move, hunting for insects, it is a bird that belongs to the forest canopy. It doesn't look like it has substantial meat on it, looks super cut and is tiny... Then why is it hunted by shikaris and herders in north-east India? The Whiskered Yuhina (Yuhina flavicollis) is a bird species in the white-eye family Zosteropidae. Its range extends across the Himalayan forests in northern India to northeast Indian states, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh and in the east to Indochina including Laos, Myanmar, Thailand,
