From our western Himalayan conservation field station, one looks right out to the Himalaya from each window of our rundown old godown cottage! The view makes one's day for it comprises of the peaks of Jaonli, Rudragaira and the Gangotri wall, in the Garhwal Himalaya, as seen from Wilderness Films India's Wilderness Orchard and botanical gardens and wildlife sanctuaries around Jabbarkhet and Landour. The cartographers said there was no peak where Hari Dang saw and climbed around Jaonli, until his Doon School group actually climbed it, in the 1960's, for the first time! Nag Tibba can also be seen from Jabbarkhet, covered as it is with winter snow. The peaks of Himachal, and the western Garhwal range west of Banderpunch can be seen from our wildlife sanctuary in Garhwal. See Mt. Jaonli peak a
