A grey bushchat (Saxicola ferreus) perches on bare branches against a soft blue sky. The bird has slate-grey upperparts, a dark mask through the eye, a bold white eyebrow stripe, and a white throat and belly. A few pale edges show on its wing feathers. Grey bushchats live in open hill country and forest edges across the Himalayas and Southeast Asia. They sit on exposed twigs and watch for insects, then drop down to catch them and return to a favourite perch. This clip offers a close, clear look at the bird in warm, soft light.
