Raw silk is one of the most used and is the expensive prized yarn for the weaving. Thagzo- The beauty of weaving has been in the history since ages. In olden days, weaving was one of the mode of income in the household when there were fewer job opportunities in the country and it is still practised as a finest provider in the family. 60% of the population in the country wear the simple plain woven commonly known as Kar chang and is compulsory to wear it in official places and schools. The other form of Kira(National Attire of Bhutan ) for women is known as Kushu Thara (intricate patterns and colourful). Bhutanese weaver uses fibres such as raw cotton, cotton, nettle fibre, Yathra (Wool made from Yak Hair), Bura(Silk). The most expensive yarn is the raw silk and cotton is the cheapest. va
