Minister of Finance of India and politician P. Chidambaram says, about Rajiv Gandhi,"Well when he drove on the streets of Delhi or anywhere else after a long gap of many years people would line the streets to wave to him and in Parliament, he had the added advantage of almost four hundred ten or twelve people behind him and his word was virtually law and I think on a one-to-one basis he won over a large number of people and I can hardly think of anyone who had a one to one with him and didn't come away completely charmed by him. I think those were the Camelot days fo Rajiv Gandhi, the first year and a half.
