The Eurasian Jays have been dive-bombing the little ullu and it bobs its head up and down, and shows us its fake eyes at the back of its head, to protect itself from the Jays. A little stunned and bullied by forest birds, this cute little owl turned up on our verandah one day, dazed and wanting peace and quiet for a while! We gave it that... It recovered after a half hour and left for the forest whence it came. It quietly sits and blinks its eyes at us, beseeching us for a little peace in its life! Meet the Collared Pygmy Owlet - the smallest owl species in the world! It came to us for protection, we gave it that, it caught its breath and recovered and was soon back in its deep Himalayan forest habitat.
