The Memorial for Dr B R Ambedkar, the maker of the Indian Constitution post the independence of India is situated at the Santhome High Road & Greenways Road Junction. He was the Chairman of the Drafting Committee for the Indian Constitution. The Architect of the Indian Constitution who championed the cause of the down-trodden and exploited millions was born on 14th April 1891 and died on 5th December, 1956. His Memorial Mani Mandapam is built at Mandaveliipakkam, and one can visit this memorial between 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar (14 April 1891 – 6 December 1956), popularly known as Babasaheb, was an Indian lawyer, politician and academic who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaigned against social discrimination in India, striving for equal rights for the Dalit.
