In a calm, semi-dry grassland area, an Indian Stone-curlew (Burhinus indicus) — also known as the Indian Thick-knee — sits quietly on the ground, blending beautifully with its sandy surroundings. Native to India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and parts of Southeast Asia, this bird is perfectly adapted to dry plains, scrublands, and open fields. The stone-curlew slowly rises, takes measured steps, and begins to walk gracefully, its large yellow eyes scanning the landscape with alert curiosity. Every now and then, it looks around, stretches its wings, and gently preens itself, maintaining its feathers with calm precision.
