A Leucauge argyra spider, commonly known as a long-jawed orb-weaver, suspended in its web in Motidhar, Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, India. The spider displays a silvery-white abdomen marked with three dark longitudinal lines, along with metallic green and golden coloration across the body. Its long slender translucent legs are adapted for movement across delicate orb webs. The spider is positioned upside down in the center of its web, a typical resting posture for orb-weaver species. These spiders construct finely structured circular webs, often angled horizontally or diagonally among vegetation to capture flying insects.
