From the glaciers of the Himalaya to the plains and cities of India, the Ganga carries water, life, agriculture, faith and millions of livelihoods. But what happens to the river along the way? Through an original poem, music and carefully documented imagery, this film traces the Ganga's journey from its pristine Himalayan origins to the polluted stretches flowing through densely populated areas. The song asks a simple but difficult question: how can a river that gives us so much receive such horrible treatment in return? The Ganga is revered as a sacred river and worshipped as a mother. Its waters are associated with purity, faith and salvation. Yet sewage, waste and pollution continue to enter the same waters. The contrast between our reverence for the river and the way we treat it forms
