The California condor is a very endangered bird species only 63 are still alive. All bird one in captivity. The Los Angeles zoo in California has taken the responsibility to preserving them by breeding and protecting the birds. Recently the zoo took the six of the Ground Condor to special pens in a protected area of a National First. The helicopters rides were designed to minimise any scares for the Condors. This Condor is six months old with a wings expand about 3 metres. If they adjust well to the pen they will be released into the wild. Scientists know that not the all batch will survive. But their release program will get in increase in population back in their natural habitat.
