Apart from the recognizable peaks of Kanchenjunga and Kabru seen at the beginning of this clip, can anyone help us identify the other peaks? To us, they look like Jichu Drakey and Chomolhari or Jomolhari in western Bhutan. Can that really be Gankar Punsum / Gangkhar Puensum ? Nope, the wider opinion is that the prime peak to the left, in the middle of the clip is indeed Chomolhari or Jomolhari ! This is the highest mountain system on earth, the name Himalaya means the House of Snow and it consists of several parallel mountain ranges. 30 to 50 million years in different stages the Indian Plate has collided with the Eurasian Continental Plate to form the Himalaya Mountains.
