Mangrove swamps and estuaries of West Bengal's Sundarbans wetlands, after floods and flooding events. These plants can survive the extremes of salt water exposure and being both flooded and dried out seasonally. Have those nets been installed for fishing purposes, you think? A green snake climbs a fence adjacent to the mangroves. Light filters through the monsoon clouds onto the waterways of the Sunderbans. Salt-water estuaries, waterways, mangroves, swamps and islands in the Sunderbans area of West Bengal. Passenger boats for local residents and visitors ply the waterways, spewing diesel from their engines.
