A group of Gray Langurs (Semnopithecus species), also known as Hanuman Langurs, resting among the branches of a leafless tree in Jhalana Leopard Reserve. These highly adaptable primates are native to the Indian subcontinent and are commonly found in forests, scrublands, rocky habitats, and areas near human settlements. The langurs display their characteristic appearance, with slender bodies, pale gray coats, black faces, and long tails that often exceed their body length. Perched high in the canopy, they use their powerful limbs to move effortlessly through the branches while maintaining a vigilant watch over their surroundings. Living in social troops, langurs rely on cooperation, grooming, and communication to strengthen group bonds. Their alarm calls are especially important in the wild
