Brow - antlered deer are seen at Imphal zoo. Manipur Zoological Garden or simply Imphal Zoo is situated around 6km from the main city. It is at Iroishemba, along the Imphal-Kangchup Road. The zoo is between a small hillock covered with pine trees and a vast open paddy field. The Imphal Zoo is best known for showcasing animals endemic to the state; some of which are considered rare and endangered. It is also known as the 'Jewel Box' of Manipur.
