A Himalayan Tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus), a large wild goat-like mammal native to the Himalayan mountain ranges of India, Nepal, and Tibet. The animal is seen grazing among dry leaves on a rugged forested slope in the Himalayan region. It has a thick reddish-brown coat, short pointed backward-curving horns, and the beginning of a dense mane around the neck and shoulders, a feature that becomes more prominent in mature males. Himalayan Tahrs are exceptionally agile climbers adapted to steep rocky terrain using specialized hooves with flexible rubber-like cores for grip. They inhabit high-altitude cliffs, alpine meadows, and mountainous forests, typically ranging between 2,500 and 5,000 meters above sea level.
