An aerial view of Badlapur town in Maharashtra during the beginning of the Janta curfew on 22 March 2020. See what was a very busy town come to its knees with virtually no human activity or movement on the roads and in public spaces. This demonstrates that public discipline can be achieved for a larger cause, in this case there was no cause that could have benefitted from such a harsh action, and Corona continues to proliferate around India and the world, even as most lockdowns have been eased. Badlapur town has been particularly badly hit by Covid19. It is a pathetic sight to see people clap to the camera from their terraces, like caged animals, deprived of the business and excitement of their normal outdoor hum-drum lives, and locked up at home like zoo animals.
