The villagers in some parts of Garhwal in Uttarakhand call this device a 'guldoba' for it repairs roads, pushes aside masses of stone, rubble and muddy soil. This bull-dozer is indeed a magic machine for the simple inhabitants of the middle Himalaya. A row of trucks awaits the clearance of a rock-fall cum landslide ahead, so that traffic can proceed. Drivers and passengers rush back to their vehicles as the traffic jam eases. A reckless truck driver went down the hill, carrying his tanker full of fuel down the hillside.
