Rajaji National Park is a large protected area that lies on the state highway to the state capital of Dehradun in Uttarakhand. Traffic jams such as this are a routine occurrence through the forested zone, causing disturbance to wildlife and commuters alike. Typical of the ill-planned initiatives of the Government of India, this is the main access to a major arterial town and it goes through a critical wild habitat for tigers and elephants.
