The devta of the village is taken out in a procession on a palki or palanquin, and the entire village turns up for the prayer and celebration, at Agoda village en route Dodital Lake in the Uttarakhand Himalaya beyond Uttarkashi town. The village pujari rings his ghanti in his hand, ringing it out aloud across the village. Drummers create the right atmosphere for the villagers to get into a pious mood.
