Jackal running through a grassland chaur at Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand, India. Very dog-like in its gait! The Jackal is attacked by nesting Red-wattled Lapwings or titeeri birds and then reaches the edge of the Ramganga river. He stands for a bit, contemplating a crossing but decides against it. He wanders along the bank for a bit. He stops and stares at the river once more. He knows he must get to the other side somehow - and quickly! So he braves the cold rushing water, and very purposefully forces his way through the rushing torrent. He almost gets under water but wades through somehow and then it's easy going all the way, once he's across the rapids.
