High Bank in Corbett Park, with a jackal. The Ramganga river flows through Corbett National Park, best seen here from High Band. Crocodiles and Gharial are frequently seen from High Bank, as a Merganser ducks. In India, Hindus traditionally considered the hunting of wolves, even dangerous ones as taboo, for fear of causing a bad harvest. The Santals however considered them fair game, as with every other forest dwelling animal.
