Loquat is truly a fruit from the past. One barely sees loquat being sold or even planted and grown these days. Just some Uttar Pradesh orchards still give importance to this lovely spring-time fruit. Here, our gardeners at the Wilderness Orchard in Delhi pluck-harvest the ripe and unripe fruit before they're all gone to the squirrels and macaques! The loquat (Eriobotrya japonica) is a tree native to China that's prized for its sweet, citrus-like fruit. Loquats are small, round fruits that grow in clusters.
