HM or Hindustan Motors made the Ambassador and the Contessa cars in India, but both have long since been discontinued. They also marketed/sold the Mitsubishi Pajero for a while, we believe. Those days are done, but the Amby lives on in government fleets and with a few private nostalgia dealers or private collectors. Hindustan Ambassador car being repaired - at the best of times, Ambassadors possibly spent almost as much time in workshops as on the road!
