This video explores the rare and medicinal Nagfani plant, locally known as Satwa, found in the Dodital region of Uttarakhand. The plant is highly valued for its medicinal properties, especially its root, which needs to be dried before use. Traditionally, it has been used to stop bleeding immediately if someone is cut. In the past, Nagfani was sold at a very high price, 10–12 thousand rupees per kilogram, making it a prized herb. Digging Nagfani is illegal, and the government does not allow it. However, due to its high value and medicinal significance, some people harvest it secretly. The plant has historically reached China via the Nepal route, and local Nepali people have deep knowledge of where different medicinal herbs grow in the Himalayas.
