Chicham Village, a remote high-altitude settlement in the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, India. Perched at an elevation of approximately 4,150 meters (13,615 feet) above sea level, Chicham is one of the highest inhabited villages in the Himalaya and is renowned for its dramatic mountain scenery and unique cultural heritage. Spitian architecture featuring whitewashed mud-brick houses with flat roofs designed to withstand the harsh climate of this cold desert region. Surrounded by rugged, barren mountains and patches of snow, the village offers a striking example of human adaptation to life in one of India's most extreme environments.
