A reforestation and conservation activity in the forests of Jabbarkhet, near Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, where volunteers are planting young saplings on a hillside to help restore and strengthen the local ecosystem. Two individuals can be seen carefully preparing the ground and planting native tree saplings in a trench dug into the forested slope. Using traditional hand tools, including a pickaxe, they work to loosen the soil and create suitable conditions for the young plants to establish healthy root systems. The pickaxe, an essential tool for breaking compacted earth and digging planting pits, lies nearby as part of the ongoing restoration effort.
