Britishers hunting on elephant-back in the area around Hailey National Park in the 1920's, before it was declared a protected area. This region now falls within Jim Corbett National Park—named after the hunter and conservationist Jim Corbett who played a key role in its establishment, and is the oldest national park in India. A herd of Chital or Spotted Deer first run towards the camera, then turn left and then scatter and disperse, due to the presence of hunters. A Britisher shoots with a rifle, then swaps a second loaded rifle from his orderly while the latter re-loads the first rifle with a fresh bullet...
