This mother plover - a Red-wattled Lapwing, in fact, is sitting over its eggs to protect them from the heavy monsoon downpour. Yet, she does not look to her personal comfort as she could well be sheltering under a tree. Once the downpour subsides, she shakes off the rain water that has drenched her feathers, does a little pirouette in the air, drops the droplets, and preens herself to dry off and get warm...
