This is an example of how NOT to treat a wild bird - this is not how we would normally film a bird in the wild, and appears to be terribly intrusive, but this was done as documentation for and by the Forest department which was monitoring the Siberian Cranes in Bharatpur. We have a lot more Crane footage from India which we film from a safe distance, using long lenses! Please see, for example: www.youtube.com/results?search_query=demoiselle+wildfilmsindia We do not approve of this behaviour. We would never disturb a bird like this at such close quarters and would rather shoot from afar with long lenses. The Siberian Crane is now extinct in India as they no longer visit Bharatpur.
