Safety be damned. Men sleep on the divider between Ring Road lanes, sleeping off their tiredness, despite the humid heat of a Delhi monsoon day in August. An entire labour crew seems to be asleep under a flyover. Other labourers smoke on the side of the road, masks down to their chins, smoke streaming out of their lips. When you have so little, you have nothing to lose. They risk the fumes and the possibility of a car or bus hitting or running them over...
