Social activist Medha Patkar speaks about Sardar Sarovar Dam. She says " This completed project would be a waste of money not being a solution to the water crisis of Gujarat. It is worsening the water problem of Kutch and Surashtra because even the alternative small decentralised projects cannot and will not be taken up driving a whole of the financial into one single project and drowning it there literally and it will anyway take the water to Kutch and Saurashtra. If one estimates the water available the claims by the urban townships, the metropolis, big industries and cash croppers in the path to Kutch and Saurashtra. So its better to stop it there, it would anyway serve as a beautiful monument reminding us of what should not be done when we need to use natural resources with equity an
