An elephants gets entires village in Assam and destroys everything making people homeless. The elephants are the only animals that can destroy dwelling houses thus putting it face to face with humans on a regular basis in Assam. The growing human population,deforestation,loss of habitat and decline in their prey species are few major reason behind the Human wildlife conflict in India. Natural wildlife territory is overlaps with the humans existence and various forms of human–wildlife conflict occur with various negative results. In Assam, every year at least 30-40 persons are losing their lives while a dozen elephants are killed in retaliation.
