The country wants to ensure that at least 60% of the country is under forestation at all times and it produces negative carbon dioxide. Bhutan grabbed media attention recently when people of Bhutan planted 108,000 trees to welcome the newborn prince. Gangkhar Puensum is the highest mountain that no climber has conquered. At almost 25,000 ft, it is the highest unclimbed mountain in the world. And it’s in Bhutan. Climbing to the Gangkhar Puensum is banned since 1994 due to security purposes. Flying into Bhutan over the Himalayas, the first thing you notice are the trees with green living valleys and people wearing different dresses speaking in their local languages.
