A peaceful wildlife scene from Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve in Maharashtra, India. A herd of Nilgai, also known as Blue Bulls, stands alongside Chital or spotted deer within the dry deciduous forest landscape of central India. The Nilgai are the largest antelope species in Asia and are recognized by their sturdy build and grey-brown coloration. Mixed among them are Chital deer, easily identified by their reddish-brown coats covered in distinctive white spots. The scene also features the remarkable Ghost Tree (Sterculia urens), one of the most recognizable trees of central Indian forests. Its smooth pale bark, which often appears whitish or glowing in certain light conditions, gives the tree its haunting name.
