A pair of Brown Dipper birds in spring. The male courts the female and tries to feed here even as they battle the cold blue waters of the Jalandhri Garh torrent above Harsil in the high Himalaya. These birds dive into the freezing cold waters and emerge with insect feed. They have an oily coating which helps them dry off and not get too wet. The bird at the beginning and end of the clip is a male Plumbeous Redstart displaying its tail feathers to full advantage.
