A wild herd of elephants, with a trumpeting tusker and many calves, in South India. A melange of wildlife from the Western Ghats forested range of South India. And the usual tiger safari that leads to stress in tigers, unnatural intimacy with human beings, and the mad rush of Maruti Gypsy vehicles to get tourists ultra close to wild tigers - simply a terrible combination. Why should wild animals be allowed to get so inured to human presence in their lives? Should we not have a distance ban on approaching animals in the wild, on foot or by vehicle?
