Red-wattled Lapwings are ground nesters and lay eggs on the ground in the spring. They usually lay a quartet of eggs and are camouflaged with the dry leaves and twigs on the ground.

Delhi summer has been tough on these birds as well. A pair of peacock with bright iridescent colours loiters near the swimming pool at our Wilderness Orchard.

Large Green or Brown-headed Barbet feasts on ripe Gular figs filmed in Delhi. Look at how the bird pecks at the fruit to split it. Its fascinating how the bird also picks from the many ripe fruits and drops some of it.

Winter is here in New Delhi and Black Kites or Pariah Kite (Milvus migrans govinda) have started their annual breeding ritual. A male is seen sopping down on a female and copulating on a dry tree stump.
