The thick silken veil is dotted with freshly hatched spiderlings like beads on thin fabric. Blankets of spider web filled with swift crawling spiderlings suspended between two leaves of a water plant flower, with all this happening betwixt a pond. The spiderlings look silverish and most of them will not live past this stage. They will either fall prey to predators or environmental factors like rain and wind. Notice the finely woven web which is made by the mother to protect the spiderlings from predators. They look like a ball of dandelions breaking apart.
