Built in the 13th century during the rule of Delhi Sultanate by Alauddin Khilji, these pavillions stand in the lawns and garden sprawl of Hauz Khas Complex in South Delhi today. The haphazard urban village construction in the backdrop has developed as the upmarket Hauz Khas village eatery market, with shops and fashion to boot, all under the guise of an urban village where the rules are absent and construction and land use becomes a free-for-all. These are a part of the many monuments inside the Hauz Khas Fort which stands beside a lake and it's a tourist attraction. Surrounded by modern residential buildings and buzz of activities, it stands out as an odd witness to the changes that have taken place centuries ago and till now.
