Participants, many dressed in red attire, celebrate by applying sindoor (vermilion) on each other—symbolizing joy, शक्ति (power), and the farewell to the goddess. This procession marks the culmination of Durga Puja festivities, where devotees bid an emotional goodbye to the goddess, immersing the idols in water bodies with prayers for her return next year.
