The Power Finance Corporation has sanctioned Rs 2800 Crore to Haryana Power Generation Corporation (HPGC). HPGC spent around 28crore rupees on Panipat Thermal Power Plant. Panipat Thermal Power Station is a unit of Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited. Thermal Power Station Panipat, a bunching of eight individual units with total installed capacity of 1360 MW is located about 8 KM in the west of Panipat city on Panipat- Hisar National Highway and is surrounded by cultivated green fields. In addition, 640 acres of saline waste land is earmarked for disposal of ash. The plant is equipped with a huge residential colony to ensure availability of staff and officers round the clock.
