Bees (Apis spp.) enter and leave a bee box around Delhi, at a roadside apiary. When the box is opened, the mass of bees becomes evident. These are Apis mellifera, an Italian species of bee that is widely bred in India. Professional bee keepers approach harvest time in India, at the end of winter, when the bees have taken in a lot of nectar from sarsaon or mustard plants in the fields.
