Are these Apis dorsata or indica? Bee folks - help us be certain, please! It's a swarm of Indian Honey bee (Apis cerana indica) as seen up close on a branch of a peepal tree. These bees are wild but are also domesticated in apiaries for commercial honey production. These bees are also one of the chief pollinators of the plant kingdom. Watch these bees form a comb hanging from the branch. The bees are seen buzzing in and around the comb. A close up of the comb shows a dense layer of bees and their wings glinting in the sun.
