A brilliant (if hazy) aerial view of the mid-winter Gangasagar Mela that takes plac at the meeting point of the Ganges or Ganga river and the Bay of Bengal. Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims from across India journey to this island location surrounded by salt water, to pay obeisance to the river that feeds a half billion Indians (and some Bangladeshis!)
